Lord Guide Me
I was sitting outside beside flowing water having a prayer time. Speaking to the Lord about where I was at and how my life was going. Asking Him many questions about the future. Trying to listen to any response that He might give.
Life had been very busy lately but not just busy in my own personal life and in the Ministry, there were also many questions that needed answers and I wanted to do the Lord’s will. I was feeling quite empty, unsure at my discernment.
What next Lord? Guide me.
I called out to Him, “Lord I believe but help my unbelief.”
I needed some encouragement.
I was more concerned that I would not hear the Lord’s voice and direction, so in my prayer I asked God to let me see a dolphin (that often swim in these waters) to confirm to me that I was on the right track.
I heard a splash and as I looked down over the balcony right in front of me was a dolphin.
It swam around for quite a while and then when I thought it had swum away, it came out of the water, did a flip in the air – as if it was doing a performance at a Dolphin Show – and swam away.
I was astonished and praising God all at the same time. Telling Him how faithful He is and incredible that He not only sent me a dolphin as confirmation that He was with me, with my decisions….. but gave me a beautiful show of His Almighty Grace through the aerial jump of the dolphin.
Oh, what a Mighty God we serve!
I share this with you all to encourage you in your life. God is with you. He will guide you. He IS interested in you, where you are right now. Turn to Him. Ask Him to reveal Himself to you.
Surrender your life to Him. He is faithful and will look after you.
As stated in Isaiah:
do not fear, for I am with you,
Isaiah 41:10 NRSV
do not be afraid, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you, I will help you,
I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.
And in 1 Peter:
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, so that he may exalt you in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you.
1 Peter 5:6-7 NRSV
May these jottings from my journal inspire you to believe in and fall in love with Christ- the hope of the world, as stated in Jeremiah 17:7, ‘Blessed is the man who believes and trusts in and relies on the Lord and whose hope and confident expectation is the Lord!’
