Be Open to the New
Happy New Year to everyone!
For some it may not feel any different from the day before, from last year, but we should be aware spiritually that God is doing a new thing.
I pray God’s blessings upon each and every one of you, upon your neighbours and friends, and upon the World.
We all need the Lord.
Our God is forever creating. Forever drawing us to Himself who is Pure, Good, and Holy. If we allow Him to influence us, change us, then we are becoming more purer, better, more holy. God is forever calling us to His love, to love others. He calls us to live knowing this love. To serve. To share. To reach out.
Oh, sometimes I feel like I have no energy for change….. it’s going to be too hard…..I can’t get my head around it…..
Well, the good news is WE DON’T HAVE TO DO IT OURSELF – sit back and relax. God does it for us if we give Him permission.
In the book of Matthew a leper comes to Jesus and states:
‘Lord, if you choose, you can make me clean.’
Matt 8:2b NRSV
“Lord,” the man said, “if you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean.”
Matt 8:2b NLT
“Master, if you want to, you can heal my body.”
Matt 8:2b MSG
How often do we talk like that? How often do we talk in the tone or attitude of “I’m not good enough.”
Well, Jesus’ reply is so loving and kind.
He stretched out his hand and touched him, saying, ‘I do choose. (I am willing.) Be made clean!’
Matt 8:3 NRSV
Do you see what is happening here. Jesus takes the first step of reaching out to us. He confirms to us “I want to”, and it comes from Him.
So, we can expect a wonderful, new exciting change of ourselves this year if we just say, “Yes.” A change for the better.
Be open to the New that God has for you.
May these jottings from my journal inspire you to believe in and fall in love with Christ- the hope of the world, as stated in Jeremiah 17:7, ‘Blessed is the man who believes and trusts in and relies on the Lord and whose hope and confident expectation is the Lord!’

Every week groups of ladies meet together to chat about the things I raise in my weekly blog post and to chat about life in general. We call these ‘Heart Connect’ groups.
DISCUSSION QUESTIONS
Are you willing for God to do new things in you this year? If not, what is holding you back?
How can you be open to the change God may want to bring?

Rosemary thank you once again for your jottings from your journal. They do inspire me and God speaks to us through different channels. Thank you Lord for speaking to me through Rosemary today. May I learn to walk believing in the Lord and not always thinking that I am not good enough. May I learn to trust the Lord in taking new steps into 2025 knowing that He has me in His hands and I do not need to be in control. Thank you, Gods blessings on your ministry.
