God is With You!

Do you get news sometimes that rocks your core? Health news, financial news, family news….. Where the world that we live in seems to sway on its axis for a few seconds.

Imagine how the two astronauts felt who were only going to be away for 8 days and found out they were not going home due to technical spacecraft problems.  Now they have been gone 286 days and hopefully on their way home soon. But they are also not just in another city, they are in a space station, millions of miles away.

Well, I received some disappointing news which brought tears to my eyes for a few minutes. The repercussions are enormous to my every day life  but in my spirit I was at peace.

God is with me.

God knew this was going to occur.

God in His great wisdom and love will use this for my good and His glory.

Actually, God will use this situation to draw me closer to Himself and to become holier.

I need to lean on Him more.

I need to surrender to Him more.

No one on earth can “fix” this, but God can if He wills it. And if it is not His will to come and intervene, He walks with me and strengthens me  while I work my way through this.

I am not alone.

I will strengthen you with my righteous right hand.

Isaiah 41:10

There is no reason to fear, for He is with me.

God has been, and will be into the future, there for me, for every tear and every sorrow.

You have kept count of my tossings;
put my tears in your bottle.
Are they not in your record?…
This I know, that God is for me.

Psalm 56:8-9 NRSV

He will strengthen my heart and help me back on my feet, no matter where I find myself, swaying off the axis of my life…. stuck in space…..

So rather than reacting in panic or doubt or sorrow, we need to lean into Our Saviour and ask Him to give us the gift of peace that he shared with the disciples in the book of John.

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid.

John 14:27

Can I encourage anyone who needs to hear this right now – Walk with Christ, the Prince of Peace.

May these jottings from my journal inspire you to believe in and fall in love with Christ- the hope of the world, as stated in Jeremiah 17:7, ‘Blessed is the man who believes and trusts in and relies on the Lord and whose hope and confident expectation is the Lord!’

Love

Rosemary, your unwavering faith is deeply inspiring. May God’s presence guide and strengthen you through every step of this journey. Psalm 46:5 reminds me, “God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.” A verse that brings me great peace is Psalm 46:10: “Be still and know that I am God.” Sending you love and blessings during this season of your life.
