The Lord Knows and He Cares

The runny nose started it off with a splitting headache. I was coming down with a cold. The aches and pains and feeling rubbish continued that night as I tossed in bed to get comfortable. It was not happening. The weather was warming up and so was I. If I sat up in bed the runny nose flowed but if I lay down, I felt like I was choking on the saliva and mucus.

Getting a cold once a year was quite common for me years ago but in the last few years with covid and the increase of hand sanitizer etc., I have avoided them.

My regular routine went out the door for the next few days as I was ‘feeling poorly’, as my Grandmother would say. My head felt like it was stuffed with cotton wool and the brain and memory were definitely not working.

As I lay there on the bed feeling washed out, I sent a prayer heavenward.

‘Sorry Lord, not feeling up to reading scripture today. My words are finding it difficult to form properly. You know how I feel today. You know my erratic thoughts as they are being formed.’

Exactly what Psalm 139 says:

You have searched me, Lord,
    and you know me.
You know when I sit and when I rise;
    you perceive my thoughts from afar.
You discern my going out and my lying down;
    you are familiar with all my ways.
Before a word is on my tongue
    you, Lord, know it completely.
You hem me in behind and before,
    and you lay your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
    too lofty for me to attain.

Psalm 139:1-6 NIV

You know.

So, take heart anyone who is not feeling well in mind, body, or spirit.

The Lord knows!

The Lord cares!

Sit. Lean into, relax into His arms.

Don’t feel guilty that you can’t give, just receive from Him.

We can still bring Him glory by our love and thoughts even when we don’t feel well.

May these jottings from my journal inspire you to believe in and fall in love with Christ- the hope of the world, as stated in Jeremiah 17:7, ‘Blessed is the man who believes and trusts in and relies on the Lord and whose hope and confident expectation is the Lord!’

Love

    Jesus Christ Our Lord God knows exactly how to heal us and make us feel better.
    Praying to Jesus and believing that he will always take care of you no matter what is going on in your life, no matter how stress you are going through, Jesus is always with us. You just have to believe in him and have faith in Jesus.

    Thank you for these thoughts. Not been myself last few days and reminding us of Psalm 139 is just the ticket. I need to test in His arms and let Him who knows me best work the perfect prescription, I am listening Lord🙏
