God Shows Us His Favour
Sing praises to the Lord, O you his faithful ones,
Psalm 30:4-5 NRSV
and give thanks to his holy name.
For his anger is but for a moment;
his favor is for a lifetime.
Weeping may linger for the night,
but joy comes with the morning.
Oh, how wonderful it is to sing gratitude to our God.
His favor is truly for a lifetime and if he is angry then we, his people, have pushed Him to be. But as it states here in verse 5 his anger is but for a moment.
This reminds me of my Mum. She was always kind, caring, giving but if angry, we her children, pushed her too far. We deserved it. But it did not last long. It was just for a moment. Then after a discussion and asking for forgiveness it was back to her showing us her favor.
Maybe you did not come from a human family like that but know your eternal Father Is like that towards you in His family.
We are all his son or daughter and when this invitation of adoption into his family is accepted, we find His favor for a lifetime.
May these jottings from my journal inspire you to believe in and fall in love with Christ- the hope of the world, as stated in Jeremiah 17:7, ‘Blessed is the man who believes and trusts in and relies on the Lord and whose hope and confident expectation is the Lord!’

Every week groups of ladies meet together to chat about the things I raise in my weekly blog post and to chat about life in general. We call these ‘Heart Connect’ groups.
DISCUSSION QUESTIONS
Have you ever pushed someone’s buttons? Who was it and what did you do?
Were you able to repair the relationship?
Have you ever thought about receiving God’s favor? What does that mean to you?

Rosemary I would have liked to have had a childhood like yours! My Mum was angry towards her children and still is. My Dad was angry too but as he grew older, he softened. In the past I searched for love all in the wrong places, only to be used and rejected. The Love of our Good Lord God did make me feel wanted, heeded and loved. I have been married close to 40 years, the early years we attended Church together, prayed, read the Sacred Scriptures and talked about what the scriptures meant. But for more than 15 years he does none of these. This makes me feel so disappointed and sad. He complains about how much time I spend praying and reading the Sacred Scriptures. Since I had the operation I know I am slow. My son went to Catholic schools but he was not interested in Faith, along with his girlfriend. We have been living in this apartment for 8 years now. We don’t know our neighbors as many come and go in this apartment block. There is no real community where we live. For me where i live is isolating. None of my family nor my husband’s family or relatives has visited us. My relationship with our Great Lord God is very profound but my husband has no understanding how important this relationship is for me… I keep praying for them all and for myself to our Great Merciful God… If you can pray for us and for me Rosemary and Team I would very much appreciate your prayers…
In Christ’s Love

We are in the middle of repossessing a business 4 1/2 hours away, not sure if the patron will pay up or give it back. Normally this would have me on edge and extremely frustrated, however trusting in the lord has kept me together and with his help and guidance we will get through this situation. Just trusting that he has a plan for us leaves me at peace. Thank you for your writing Rosemary.
