Do You Believe for the Unexpected?

Willow’s 8th birthday was approaching. I offered to take her shopping so she could choose some clothes and shoes for her present. She was very excited and kept checking the whole week about the day and time that I would pick her up. It was a lovely late night shopping experience. She selected some lovely t-shirts, shorts, skirt and track top.

A few days later her Mum bought her some sneakers. The next day, as she was putting on her shoes, she turned to her Mum and stated, “I think you’ve bought me the wrong size – I can’t feel my toes touching the top of the shoes…”

For a while now because she is having a growth spurt all her shoes are getting tight for her and her toes have touched the top of the shoes. She thinks that’s just normal.

Do we sometimes live a certain way, thinking it is just normal, because it’s been like that for so long? That we don’t remember any different.

Sometimes that can be a mistake.

We learn to live less than. We don’t have hope for a better future, because this is the way it has been for so long.

Had Abraham and Sarah given up long ago for a child? Then God stepped in and told Abraham he would be a Father of a great nation. He had been so used to his “toes touching the edge of his shoes”, just getting by, not expecting a child anymore. But God came and showed him a different way, to believe and walk differently-

God made a miraculous space of provision and birth of a son to occur out of the ordinary, out of the impossible, so unexpected.

Do you have enough faith to believe God could work in your life?

Do the unexpected?

Do you believe God could blow your socks off and do something in your life unexpected?

I do.

Our trust needs to go deeper in Him, in knowing whatever happens God has a perfect plan

A perfect plan for me, for my life.

Or will I be surprised when God wants to spoil me and gives me shoes that allow me to grow, and my toes don’t scrape the top of the shoes.

Where do you trust God?

May these jottings from my journal inspire you to believe in and fall in love with Christ- the hope of the world, as stated in Jeremiah 17:7, ‘Blessed is the man who believes and trusts in and relies on the Lord and whose hope and confident expectation is the Lord!’

Oh yes! My God is great and wonderful, he can do anything and everything.
The thing I hope for most is the transformation of our daughter and her family in Tasmania, I won’t go into details, but they need a miracle to turn their lives around. I believe that if it is Gods will their lives will be changed for ever.
I trust him in all areas, he knows best what we need.

Yes, I have experienced the unexpected!
I had kept a renter in my apartment. After three months he stopped paying me the rent. Reminders, police complaints and even legal notices were futile. Each day I asked my my GOD to strengthen my faith. I prayed ” Lord YOU know my agony, but I trust in YOU, only YOU can help me. I trust in YOUR plan, I know that you are fighting for me”. Ten months later my GOD brought me victory! this renter just left on his own.
It was my total faith in my GOD that the unexpected happened.
