I feel like I’m going up and down an escalator. Never getting to the top. Each time I look up I’m still so far from the top.

Just an analogy of how I feel within me right now. Tired, drained, so much to still do on my ‘to-do’ list. Even the deep breaths I physically take in don’t seem to help.

Then I think a good night’s sleep will fix everything.

NO, it’s the same in the morning.

You know that heavy cloud that hangs over you.

It could be your work, your family, your health. Your……….

I feel so drained I can’t even think straight. My mind is in jumbles. Filled with cotton wool.

Then I stop.

Hang on a minute. I’VE GOT IT ALL WRONG AGAIN!

Most of the time I can only do so much myself. Silly me.

I need to rely on God to do the 99.999999% of everything. My 0.00000001% is just my yes, my surrender to Him.

2 Corinthians 4:16-18 NRSV sums it up so much.

So we do not lose heart. Even though our outer nature is wasting away, our inner nature is being renewed day by day. For this slight momentary affliction is preparing us for an eternal weight of glory beyond all measure, because we look not at what can be seen but at what cannot be seen; for what can be seen is temporary, but what cannot be seen is eternal.

2 Cor 4:16-18 NRSV

And I love how it is described in the MESSAGE Bible (A translation of the original translation in every day language.)

So we’re not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace. These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us. There’s far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can’t see now will last forever.

2 Cor 4:16-18 MSG

So don’t lose heart. Keep your eyes on HIM!

Everyone reading this – wipe those tears from your eyes – Jesus Himself will, for HE has prepared a lavish banquet for us to feast from. We will be His guests for eternity! Oh, I can’t wait.

So hang in there, if only by a thread. Just make sure the thread comes from His Royal Robes.

May these jottings from my journal inspire you to believe in and fall in love with Christ- the hope of the world, as stated in Jeremiah 17:7, ‘Blessed is the man who believes and trusts in and relies on the Lord and whose hope and confident expectation is the Lord!’

Love

I have found that on the days I get so busy and I have God in my heart , I feel that I’m not totally fixed on my Lord Jesus. That’s when I start to say ” lord please forgive me it’s not that I put you last or on hold it just gets very hard at times to multitask my everyday life things to do, and I wanting to truly spend this quality time in prayet and meditation with you . So lord I ask you to help me on how to fix my eyes more on you then the everyday day chores and the burdens .
Teach me not to get overwhelmed and distracted in this things in my life. In the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ my savior, Amen 🙏 🙌✨❤ 💖♥

How true that is …. I’ve just had a couple of weeks where I haven’t felt my self… felt a bit faraway from God even though I knew wasn’t. So I kept saying to God that I was leaning on him and finally I’m good again. The joy of knowing yourself healed by Jesus is beyond measure…
Also, may I add… seeing you 3 granddaughters with Bruce the other day.. there’s certainly no missing they’re your granddaughters..you’ve left your mark on them!!
    God bless you all

    Rosemary:

I can totally relate to how you have been feeling. I am in the same frame of mind at this time. A few weeks ago – my husband was diagnosed with Alzheimers and I didn’t know what to say or do. My mind just started to go 100 miles an hour and I didn’t know how to turn it off. So much to do, should we sell the house – how long will it take to get in to a seniors apartment community, so we are close to the necessary care he will most likely need in the near future. My friend had given me a beautiful prayer to say when I got overwhelmed. I say that prayer everyday and sometime two or three times a day. I am so trying to leave everything in the good Lord’s hands. I keep taking it back. It is very difficult for me to let go and let God. I know He will show me the right things to do to make all the decisions we need to make together with my husbands children. I never have to do it alone. Thank you once again for reminding me that God is in control and that he will turn things to the good.

God bless you, Bruce, Emma and the whole team.

Thank you Rosemary for sharing with us what you are experiencing lately! It definitely rings true for me too!!! Thank you so much for your uplifting response to your situation and mine!!! The Word of God is definitely alive! Life giving! The Scripture passage you quote
is perfect, encouraging, filled with truth and hope!!! I remember writing this scripture verse down in my PERSONAL Prayer Journal somewhere! Now I’ll be writing the scripture passage in my Reminder Book!!! Another scripture verse that came just today as I was
being still in prayer and listening to what the Lord wanted to say to me is Matthew 11:28 Come to me all you who are weary and are
carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest… These words are what I really needed right now! It is so reassuring when the Lord
answers you right when you need Him to! As He did also for you Rosemary! What’s more you give to us the same comfort you have received from the Lord yourself! I want to thank you again Rosemary! May the Lord keep being close with you, Bruce, Emma and your family and all who work in the Heart ministry!
    God bless you
    In Christ’s Love

I loved this message, it is so true. I am at a good place right now in my life, but I have had times like you described not that long ago.
This past year, with the lockdowns etc. I found Bruce’s ad for his lenten teachings, so I signed up. And thru him I found you and your daughters talks also. You have a wonderful family and so in tuned to God. I hope you embrace that blessing, as I am sure you do. I have prayed to God all my life and attend mass etc. but since listening to Bruce and your messages I have a better understanding of what we can do, how we can have a deeper relationship with Jesus and the Holy Spirit. I just wanted to let you know how helpful it is
to have people like you out there that we can listen to and get spiritual help.
Thank you and God continue to bless you and your family.
