Have you ever played the game called ‘Celebrity Heads’? Everyone playing has a different name or object written upon a piece of cardboard which is then stuck to their forehead. You have to guess the name of the celebrity, or the name of the object that is stuck to your own forehead. You can’t see the name and you have to ask one question to the other people in the group playing the game with you, that gives you a clue to unravelling the name or item. The first person to guess their name or item wins.

I played it for the first time on the weekend with my grandchildren. I was hesitant at first in asking the questions and working through what item or person it could be. As I progressed in the game, I became better at asking the right type of questions. I did not want to waste a question. There was a limit also on time taken for the questions.

It’s amazing when you are under the pump, under pressure, how your brain does NOT work. Ha ha!

It brought much enjoyment. Especially to the younger grand-daughters who are 6 and 4, Aubrey and Willow. They laughed at me asking weird or stupid questions. We all laughed together enjoying the game. We enjoyed each other’s company and oh it felt so good for the soul.

As I get older, I am enjoying more and more spending time with people. I especially enjoy spending time with my children and grandchildren where it’s not just business or work but play and enjoyment. TIME is so precious.

Like as it states in Psalm 133:

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is
For brethren to dwell together in unity!

Psalm 133:1 NKJV

And in the Message translation it says:

How wonderful, how beautiful,
when brothers and sisters get along!
It’s like costly anointing oil
    flowing down head and beard,
Flowing down Aaron’s beard,
flowing down the collar of his priestly robes.

Psalm 133:1-3 MSG

Maybe visually that does not appear nice – oil flowing down the head, through the hair and into the beard and then down the clothes you are wearing. But the word BEHOLD tells us to take note well.  N.B. To inspect what this means.

Our attention is drawn to how good it is when there is unity among the people of GOD. The Goodness reflects God’s heart for unity of His People. How pleasant it is – no bickering or disagreements. We ALL know how good and pleasant that is! Oh, what a Blessing.

The Oil running down the person’s head signifies the blessing and refreshment that occurs, and the “smell” of the atmosphere is good when UNITY occurs. It is NOT contained but spreads itself as a precious blessing, like a holy anointed oil.

When they announce the NOBEL PEACE PRIZE every year (which they have just recently done) the people chosen for this award are a blessing of Unity and Peace to many people where they live, where they work and like OIL, flow this PEACE, this Blessing to ALL.

The UNITY of their fellow man, and so the PEACE that results, develops them into candidates for the peace prize.

Maybe we need to play more games that make us laugh and bring enjoyment and unity to all who PLAY.

Where do you bring Unity and enjoyment to your brothers and sisters?

May these jottings from my journal inspire you to believe in and fall in love with Christ- the hope of the world, as stated in Jeremiah 17:7, ‘Blessed is the man who believes and trusts in and relies on the Lord and whose hope and confident expectation is the Lord!’

Love
