Audacious Faith!

The little 2-year-old climbed the stairs carefully up to the enclosed trampoline. As she reached the top Abigail turned to look to see if I was watching her. I called out, “Be careful. Watch where you are walking.” She laughed and then started to bounce up and down with delight, her golden curly hair blowing in the wind.

Along comes her big brother. He is four. Emmett is a bundle of energy waiting to burst out into any activity where he can use it. I laugh as I watch because He does not use the stairs. He runs at the trampoline full pelt, dives for the handle holds and swings himself precariously up onto a ledge but just holding on with his fingers. He is dangling from a height and using all of his might to pull himself up so he can stand on the ledge. Huffing and puffing, he strains all of his muscles and he pushes himself up.

I am there in case he needs me, but he achieves the end result all by himself.  To get up onto the ledge to get into the enclosed trampoline and jump, somersault, bounce around his little sister. I had to smile. Emmett had not even considered to take the ladder to climb up onto the ledge. No way! He had to do it the hard way. The sense of achievement way. His way.

Later in the day I was reflecting upon a passage of scripture I had been reading.

In Mark it says:

“Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.

Mark 11:22-23 NIV

Emmett believed, had no doubt, that he could climb that ‘mountain of a trampoline entrance.’ He ran at it full pelt, no hesitation. He threw himself into this achievement. He used all of his energy and perseverance to climb to that ledge. He had the audacity to try it and do it.

We all could learn something from four-year-old Emmett.

Yes, he is a boy with bundles of energy but actually no different than an average four-year-old. Of the four years of his life, Mum and Dad have encouraged him to live life to the full, and he has not allowed cuts, bruises, knocks to affect his sense of attacking that mountain in front of him. I know he is only four and has not yet hit the world of real knocks and bruises, but I pray that He stays like this all his life.

Jesus states here if anyone believes that it will happen……….it will happen if we have Faith in God.

“Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted you.”

Mark 11:24 NIV

I believe Emmett would hear these words and NOT hesitate to ask Jesus.

Are we going to have an audacious Emmett spirit of “running at the mountain like its already moved?”

Are we going to tell that mountain to toss itself into the sea?

We all have those mountains, but do we have that FAITH, that TRUST in God?

Do we look at our bruises, at our non-achievements, at our disappointments and allow them to dictate how we pray into the future?

Our Prayer is an ongoing relationship with Our God. Don’t let yourself stay in the mediocre. Break out into the audacious, fulfilling, blessed Life God has for ALL of his followers.

So, I’m speaking to myself here.

The past is the past. I’ve given it all to Him so now it is Forgiven by God. My Future is bright. Because of the Love God has for me. Because of His faithfulness. I CAN ASK in Prayer for……..

What do you need to be asking of God? Audaciously and with no hesitation.

I can’t wait to write, down the track, what God has done….. what miracles He has performed…..what Glory He has shown that may encourage more FAITH in Him, our loving Father.

May these jottings from my journal inspire you to believe in and fall in love with Christ- the hope of the world, as stated in Jeremiah 17:7, ‘Blessed is the man who believes and trusts in and relies on the Lord and whose hope and confident expectation is the Lord!’

Love

Love the image of the children. Some of our grandchildren, literally throw themselves at life and some are more cautious.
I have over the last few years come to realise, that everything in my life, absolutely everything, has been a blessing. The good the bad, the beautiful and the ugly.
If the rest of my life is spent thanking My GOD, then I am content.
Blessings to you and Bruce and your progeny

I love these images of both children. They both get to the intended goal. I’ve been living like Abigail. I want to live like Emmett! Today I’ll begin to be audaciously bold and not let my past dictate my future! Thank you Rosemary! This was just what I needed! God bless you and yours!

Thank you Rosemary for this very encouraging Blog! I find it fascinating that I can learn from animals and children, what the Lord is trying to teach me alongside Scripture verses! Being audaciously bold is a grace I will be asking the Lord for in my life! I will be also asking the Lord that I no longer live in the past but look ahead towards our Lord. Fix my eyes on Him and the future He has for me, for my loved ones and all who I am praying for! May the Lord keep blessing you Rosemary and all your family! I pray and hope you have recovered from covid just as I did! So I can thank the Lord for answering my prayers for you and your family Rosemary!
