God Fulfills His Promises

Isaiah 55:10-11 states:

For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven,
    and do not return there until they have watered the earth,
making it bring forth and sprout,
    giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater,
so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth;
    it shall not return to me empty,
but it shall accomplish that which I purpose,
    and succeed in the thing for which I sent it.

Isaiah 55:10-11 NRSV

So just as the rain does not go back to the heavens until it has watered the earth, God’s promises, all the words spoken from Himself, will do and will produce what the words were meant for.

God speaks the Truth.

His promises are entirely trustworthy because His nature is unchanging. He is completely faithful to His word and never fails to fulfil what He has spoken.

Throughout the pages of the Bible, all the historical events depicted and proven from other history books and all the scriptures prophesying the future Messiah show this unwavering reliability of Our God which has been the cornerstone of our faith.

As I reflect upon God’s promises I am profoundly encouraged in knowing that they are guaranteed.

Some promises of God are:

And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:7 NRSV

do not fear, for I am with you,
    do not be afraid, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you, I will help you,
    I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.

‘Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.

Philippians 4:19 NRSV

    I fear no evil;
for you are with me;
    your rod and your staff—
    they comfort me.

Psalm 23:4 NRSV

We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.

Romans 8:28 NRSV

    and do not rely on your own insight.

    and he will make straight your paths.

Proverbs 3:5-6 NRSV

And these are just some of His promises!

Oh, how blessed are we to know this God!

May our hearts fall in love with Him more and may we desire others to come to know Him too.

May these jottings from my journal inspire you to believe in and fall in love with Christ- the hope of the world, as stated in Jeremiah 17:7, ‘Blessed is the man who believes and trusts in and relies on the Lord and whose hope and confident expectation is the Lord!’
