God is SO Good!

Our travels are nearly over for this season.

God’s provision has simply been God-smackingly good (Not gob-smackingly), as only God can be.

His gift of provision of all that we would need on this trip was supplied to us every day.

His gift of His presence was in every meeting we went to, on every step of our journey.

His gift of faithfulness to His promises, especially the promise found in Matthew chapter 6. Starting with Verse 25 (Bruce and my Gospel reading at our wedding):

And I say to you, do not be anxious about your life, as to what you will eat, nor about your body, as to what you will wear. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?

Matt 6:25

…….continuing in verse 31.

Therefore, do not choose to be anxious, saying; What shall we eat, what shall we drink, and what shall we be clothed?

Matt 6:31

………(how are we going to pay our bills? That’s where my thoughts go…..)

BUT God then states in verse 33

Seek first His Kingdom and his righteousness (Seek for the KING.) and ALL these things will be given to you as well.

Matt 6:33

This promise is TRUE. Both Bruce and I felt that God wanted us to travel to meet people and tell them about JESUS. Not knowing fully where our steps would lead us, what God would do.  Not knowing how the trip would be funded, what might happen. Just knowing we needed to go, to take the steps.

Well, I can tell you that God IS FAITHFUL and will always look after you. You still need to be wise in your decisions and fully rely on God for direction, but HE WILL HELP YOU.

We are still walking, hoping we are going in the direction God has set up for us and the calling we feel He has on our life. (We both though acknowledge that if we stray off the path He has for us, He will guide us back.)

You meet people who have felt like they should become a doctor, a nurse, a firefighter, a teacher…… there is a driving force in their life they cannot explain. Well often that is the spirit of God guiding people. The God who created them with the gifts, talents, abilities for a purpose.

Both Bruce and I feel we need to go PROCLAIM JESUS.  With our lives, with our voice, by whatever means God shows us. We have felt this all our life, this propulsion. To not do this, as Bruce describes, “is like not to breathe.”

This propulsion from the Holy Spirit is more urgent. More on our hearts and so we go.

Reflecting back on the last few weeks of meeting so many beautiful people, I am amazed at the handiwork of God.  People tall, short, young, old. People from all walks of life, all searching for the meaning of life, searching for the Love of God, the Knowledge of God.

But SO many people do NOT KNOW this God. Did NOT KNOW this God, till we shared with them. The NEED to truly KNOW GOD was spoken by all.

Humbled were we by many of them sharing that we showed them that God desires, Jesus His Son desires, the Holy Spirit desires to have a personal relationship with each and every one of us. He is interested in us!  They had not “Heard this before” or knew of it, even though many had gone to Church their whole life.

This God that is so above us, sometimes seems so unattainable to us, but is actually so close, wanting to be close to us to walk with us in our everyday lives.

God does not have to go and seek for us for He has, IS always there right where we are. Walking close to us – even if we do not acknowledge Him.

This One thing blew me away, expressed by a beautiful soul.

This person asked, when Bruce offered at the end of the night “questions from anyone?”,

“Does Jesus Laugh?”

I wanted to jump off my chair and go and hug that person so much! I had to restrain myself. This person went on to share that God to her, she felt, was just full of judgement for her.  That she is seeing a different side to Jesus. That we are presenting a different Jesus to her.

Oh everyone, please, please know that – Jesus delights in us! Laughs with us! (especially if you have those jokes that no one else laughs at – I’m one of those in my family.)

SMILES at us!

HUGS US!

LOVES us!

Psalm 147:11 states

The Lord takes pleasure in those that fear Him(awe), in those that hope in his mercy.

Psalm 147:11

And in Zephaniah 3:17

…He will rejoice over you with gladness…

Zeph 3:17

Come and find THIS JESUS for yourself. HE is always available to us. SEEK THE KING and HIS KINGDOM.

ALL who came shared – This LIFE of mine, now with Jesus IN IT has never been the same.

“The Holy Spirit is alive in me – has shared things with me – about my life, my career, my family……. I AM DIFFERENT.”

And so, reflecting on these few weeks. I am different myself due to these beautiful people sharing themselves with us. I have seen GOD work and it is Oh so powerful and brings tears to my eyes.

The LOVE of God for US is so immense.

KNOW THIS!

And so, the push within me to share more is stronger, to give more is stronger, ALL for HIM!

What could GOD be asking of you?

May these jottings from my journal inspire you to believe in and fall in love with Christ- the hope of the world, as stated in Jeremiah 17:7, ‘Blessed is the man who believes and trusts in and relies on the Lord and whose hope and confident expectation is the Lord!’

Love

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

Have there been times in your life where God is provided everything you needed? If so, what were these times?

Do you feel a sense of purpose from God on your life? What do you believe that purpose is? If not, will you seek God to ask that He reveal it to you?
