What Atmosphere is in Your Home?

So many people have been asking me, “How are you going? I hope “IT’S” not too stressful for you.” “IT’S” refers to moving house. We are finally moving into our new house after 2 years of renting. Moving house is frequently cited to be one of life’s most stressful events.

I don’t feel that way.

I am looking forward to the move. I am looking forward to being able to cook properly again. To use my winter clothes again. We had packed up so much of our things so as to live simply (we thought for only a short time.) Part of me has got used to simple but the other part of me often thinks – I can’t cook that dish or do that thing for my slow cooker was packed, that casserole dish is in a box somewhere… all my saucepans (except one) were packed.  Back then I packed my winter puffer jacket, my overcoat….. thinking we would be done and dusted for next winter…. But 2 winters on…..brrrrrrr.

Thank God for warm throw rugs.

I can’t wait to eat at a dining room table, to sit at a desk to write…..

First world problems really. I have come to appreciate the provision by God for my life, even my things in my life more! I know already that it may take a while to unpack everything, for I will be de-cluttering even more than I did 2 years ago. I don’t need so much stuff.

I enjoy the decorating. I don’t find it a chore at all. I’ve just told Bruce that I have a long-term plan. I cannot unpack within a few days like I used to do in the past. (We have moved 19 times since being married 41 years ago.) I am going to take my time; my body’s aches and pains will determine the pace. So, it may take me awhile, but it will eventually get done.

Oh, the excitement! One of our friends said I’m like a little kid in a lolly shop. So true. I even have been clapping my hands with joy to what God has given to us with this house. Both Bruce and I desire it to be a haven for others, a welcoming respite for ourselves and others that God may send us to stay here. A place where people can always feel welcome, loved and possibly find their place in and with Christ.

A “light on a hill” as the scriptures state.

A “beacon” beckoning people with love and service. A house of Faith and Prayer.

A place in our neighbourhood that people are drawn to…..

A place where Christ lives and breathes life to all who walk through the doors.

Have you thought about your place, where you live? What atmosphere do you desire to bring to others who come and visit you? Is it a place of peace and love?

Think about it. You can change the atmosphere……. Christ would want us to. To breathe His Spirit into where we dwell.

May these jottings from my journal inspire you to believe in and fall in love with Christ- the hope of the world, as stated in Jeremiah 17:7, ‘Blessed is the man who believes and trusts in and relies on the Lord and whose hope and confident expectation is the Lord!’

Love

This is you Rosemary. Taking your time and doing it right. That is patience and that is awesome. So happy for you and Bruce. I know it will be warm and inviting.

I wish you both joy, peace and wellbeing in your new home, and that it is all you wish it to be.

I hope our home is welcoming, a place to relax and recharge

I hope the atmosphere is warm and hospitable

Perhaps, less frenetic. I have a husband who really dislikes sitting, doing nothing. To put it mildly, he is a doer.

Rosemary I pray to the Lord that both of you in your new home will be blessed abundantly with much peace, love and joy, as well as warmth!!! And everyone who comes to visit will feel the same!!! I am like you Rosemary when it comes to moving, I find it exciting although there is a lot of work to do!!! My husband on the other hand hates moving!!! With one exception! Many years ago, when we had a car, we would travel through the location where we live now, to visit my parents. I remember saying to myself thank God I don’t live here! And here we are!!! It has been close to five years now…There has been much noise in the apartment, even our pet cat has become jumpy and searches places to escape and hide! Beside our apartment block, construction workers- may the Lord bless them all!!! They are using the empty block to stock pipes, soil, machinery that is needed for the railway and roads. Many trucks come and go in order to pick up and to unload. Then there is renovations we hear above us, beside us and below us. There is a tendency for the apartment to accrue dust. Sometimes we also hear drums beating to the rythmn of music and drilling. Often my husband and son find the apartment too hot, especially in our bedrooms. We have noticed many neighbours come and go. There are a limited amount of shops, restaurants, cafes and no community centre. To go to Church I need to catch buses or trains. I thank God our Creator, for the trees I see in the neighbours yards, along the street, the race course and the walk along the river!!! My son’s girlfriend works from home and has no room of her own, to do so. I am constantly reminded, we all need to talk quietly, have the TV on low, while she is working, which is hard for an Italian descendant!!! BUT I BELIEVE OUR LORD HAS US LIVING HERE FOR A REASON… FOR A PURPOSE… I will keep praying, hoping, growing in Faith and being patient until our Lord decides when and where we will all move to next…
May the Lord keep blessing, providing and protecting you both Rosemary and Bruce, the ministries and all who work in them, along with your families and loved ones!!! And oh if you have any time please pray for my family and I, as well as my Mum and my siblings, my brother in law and my niece, if you can…
    In Christ’s Love
    Valerie!!!

May God continue to bless you and your new home. I know the feeling i live in a rented space and all my belongings packed away and living with the bare essentials. I pray that one day soon i will be able to move into my own place. Blessings.

What a Blessing finally to have your new home ready to move into, Rosemary & Bruce. May the Blessed Trinity live in your home as they live in you, bringing much joy, peace, shelter, home cooked meals, health & happiness, & Faith to all who grace your doorstep. Maybe have your Parish Priest conduct a special little home Blessing, inside & outside for you. I haven’t met either of you, but I feel as though you are friends. Many Blessings for your future. 🙏📿🙏📿💐

    Hello Rosemary.

I feel excited for you to move onto your own home. My sister has been house hunting for about a year. I keep praying that God will help hard to find the right place. I hope my home is Christlike and welcoming to those who enter. Yours is a good message today. Lots to think about.
