Wonders for the Soul
God’s amazing backyard.
As I sit and contemplate today, the views are breathtaking. Full of God’s awe and wonder. Lush green paddocks on which the cows are grazing set before purple hewed vegetation sitting upon a mountain called Franklin. The air is fresh and smells of scents from the surrounding flora.
Ahh! Such beauty! Simply amazing! All of God’s work!
I have been blessed to be able to come away down south to the Valley of the Giants and the Tree top walk.
A walk constructed 70m above the forest and in the canopy of the giant tingle trees, the only place in the world they grow.
Similar to the karri tree (90m above the earth) in height but different in wood texture and root construction.
Only God could make these!
Man unknowingly over the years has destroyed many but now they are protected and cared for. They can live for 500 years. Now many generations can enjoy the beauty of them.
This beauty comes from their Creator, Our Creator. Oh, what beauty Our Creator, the Lord must be?
The psalmist in Psalm 104 and especially verse 24-25 invites us to slow down and behold the majesty of nature, and in doing so, to catch a glimpse of the Creator himself.
O Lord, how manifold are your works!
Psalm 104:24-25 NRSV
In wisdom you have made them all;
the earth is full of your creatures.
Yonder is the sea, great and wide,
creeping things innumerable are there,
living things both small and great.
That’s it! – Why it is so breathtaking! It is a glimpse of God’s glory, of the Creator himself!
As stated by Paul in Romans:
Ever since the creation of the world his eternal power and divine nature, invisible though they are, have been understood and seen through the things he has made.
Romans 1:20 NRSV
Oh, how blest am I to see this and so see a part of my beautiful, majestic God.
Do you see God in nature? And hence stop and smell those roses or gum leaves or wattle blooms?
Go treat yourself and get out and see some glimpse of the glory of God. It does wonders for your soul.
May these jottings from my journal inspire you to believe in and fall in love with Christ- the hope of the world, as stated in Jeremiah 17:7, ‘Blessed is the man who believes and trusts in and relies on the Lord and whose hope and confident expectation is the Lord!’

Yes agree Rosemary nature is my passion, it can heal the soul, just walking through a rain forest breathing the thick air and looking at our Earth in it’s natural form brings me to God! Breathtaking! This is God’s gift to us!

I first felt the wonder of God the day I gave birth to my first son. Perfect in every way, I recognised how wonderful it was that God had formed him in my womb.

Rosemary thank you for this reflection. I am doing creation in a bible study tonight with a few teens and this helps me see the specific direction I want to go. In God’s beauty we see it all. Thank you again.
