Be Encouraged
I read this scripture the other day:
May you be made strong with all the strength that comes from his glorious power, and may you be prepared to endure everything with patience, while joyfullygiving thanks to the Father, who has enabled you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the light. He has rescued us from the power of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
Colossians 1:11-14
I was greatly encouraged, and it reminded me so much that it is in His power that we are truly strengthened. It is from Him that we can truly endure with patience all things that may come our way and be filled with joy, having thankful hearts for all that He has done and is doing. That we share in His inheritance – sons and daughters of Our Saviour in whom He has redeemed us and forgiven us all of our sins.
Life often gets in the way. The never-ending tyranny of no time, focusing on the immediate jobs, chores, and trying to keep our head above the streams of finances, family, work and all the other myriads of activities.
Whenever the daily news is read or watched I need to remind myself that Jesus is still in charge.
I need to remember to lift my eyes to the hills – to look up at Him – from there my help will come from. And I need to remind others of the same. We can all get discouraged so easily.
Who do you need to remind to help them not be discouraged? Is it you?
May these jottings from my journal inspire you to believe in and fall in love with Christ- the hope of the world, as stated in Jeremiah 17:7, ‘Blessed is the man who believes and trusts in and relies on the Lord and whose hope and confident expectation is the Lord!’

Every week groups of ladies meet together to chat about the things I raise in my weekly blog post and to chat about life in general. We call these ‘Heart Connect’ groups.
DISCUSSION QUESTIONS
How often do you need encouragement in your life?
When you need that encouragement how often do you turn to Christ?
How could you remind yourself to constantly look to God for everything you need? Or how you could you encourage others to look to Him?

Oh, all the time. God is my strength. Every day I ask for his strength and help.
Jesus encourages me through all trials and at all times of the day.
By example and when asked where my strength comes from the reply is from the Holy Spirit.
