Invite the Holy Spirit
As I sat down to get off my feet and legs which were talking to me, I felt very satisfied. A good event. Everything ran very smoothly. The laughter, “ahh’s”, and even the silent moments were very rewarding.
My prayer is that the Holy Spirit has planted a seed, opened fresh doors and helped encourage those women who attended to use their gifts.
Feedback that we received was … “I’ve never done anything like that before.”
“The day went so fast, but so eye-opening.”
“I was a bit sceptical, but the Spirit Questionnaire was exactly me.”
“I had the best day; it was such a blessed event.”
“The day was simply amazing”
“Oh, I felt so special and so blessed”
Now the clean-up. So much food left over. Tables and chairs to be put away or re-configurated. Items for games and stationery for talks to be re-organized. But I look at my desk, piled high with stuff and thought, “It can wait a few days.”
Going home and feeling so tired I thought I would go to sleep pretty quickly but I was restless. Over-tired? Thoughts going through my head on how to improve. How to invite the Holy Spirit in more. How to honour the Holy Spirit more.
My thoughts and prayers before the event were to invite the Holy Spirit to do anything He wanted. To allow the Spirit freedom to move, within me, within the event.
I then prayed for all the ladies coming that they were open to hear or do what the Holy Spirit might whisper to them, to encourage them, to direct and guide them or remind them what Jesus taught us. To be open to His promptings.
I had no set agenda. Only what God wanted to achieve.
I was only a clay vessel open for the Lord to fill it. To do His will for me and for all the ladies.
Before finally going to bed, I felt a need to thank the Holy Spirit for what He had done. Even if I saw nothing but believing secret hidden things were happening. Knowing because of God’s love and faithfulness His word would achieve what it needed to achieve.
So, after chatting to the Lord, thanking Him, trusting it all to Him, I fell into a deep sleep.
Have you ever organized something that you were happy how the event went?
At the end of the night, you were satisfied and so was everyone that came?
If it was a spiritual event, were you anxious beforehand or trusting in the Lord to do what he wanted to do?
Knowing that God will work in spite of us, but wants to use us if we are willing, it makes for a great event full of peace and calm. We need to remind ourselves that He is in charge. The King still sits upon the throne and is sovereign!
May these jottings from my journal inspire you to believe in and fall in love with Christ- the hope of the world, as stated in Jeremiah 17:7, ‘Blessed is the man who believes and trusts in and relies on the Lord and whose hope and confident expectation is the Lord!’

Every week groups of ladies meet together to chat about the things I raise in my weekly blog post and to chat about life in general. We call these ‘Heart Connect’ groups.
