A Walk of Trust
It’s been a walk in trust these past few weeks. Trusting that my Mum is getting the best medical attention she can. Trusting in the doctors’ advice and treatment options. But ultimately trusting in My God who is in control. Who loves me and loves my mother more than I ever can. Trusting that God is working through the medical expertise of the doctors and nursing staff. Trusting with the outcomes. It has given me and my family a great peace. Yes, it is still worrying and has brought many a tear to our eyes but knowing that Mum is in the hands of Our Loving God has given us…
Everyone is Invited
We had planned to watch a movie on the television. It did not eventuate. Sitting around the dining room table chatting after dinner with my Dad and older Sister led into my Dad sharing on some escapades of his life as a boy. So much that I did not know, or stories not heard of before. It was such a delight to laugh at some of the stories and to be astonished at others. I learnt so much more about my Father and my Grandparents lives that also explained a lot about choices they had made and the way they had lived. It was such a joy-filled night. Especially good…
Mary’s Wise Words
Just recently where I live, we celebrated Mother’s Day. A day where we honour our mothers for the love and care they have shown us. My Mother is outstanding in her selflessness towards all of her children, actually all who she meets. I admire her for her strength and perseverance that I have seen in her life when circumstances have been difficult. For her peacefulness, mercy and love she exudes to others who are in need. For her generosity and nurturing of 6 children, 23 grandchildren and now 28 great grandchildren and counting. She has always been a listening ear, a caring gesture extended while giving wise counsel. My mother is never…
Weighing the Cost?
It has been a few months of long hours of focusing on work and so having a few days of downtime is refreshing. Sometimes you don’t realise how tired you are till you stop. The snoozing in the morning and hitting the alarm a few times does not make me feel guilty. Well not at the moment anyway. I was watching a few renovating shows, later that evening. Most of them had a huge budget and they were changing the entire layout of the house. The team were flipping. That’s what it is called when they buy an old worn out, tired house and renovate it and then sell it…
God is Interested in the Small Things
I have this new computer that recognizes my fingerprint so as to open up all my icons on it. It keeps everything private and unopenable by anyone, unless it’s me. Most of our technology have these protections inbuilt in them. Our phones to be usable often need face recognition. Passwords are put onto our email addresses so people find it harder to use our personal information. Of course, computer wizards or hackers can often get through these protective mechanisms, so passwords are often changed to try and avoid this. The other day I was trying to open my computer and it did not recognize me. After a few goes and…
