• How do I follow Jesus?

How do I follow Jesus? How do I walk in His footsteps? How do I have His heart? I know the more I know Him the more I should understand His ways and the more I can love Him and serve Him and honour Him by acting like Him. In Micah 6:8 it states the ultimate question. What does the Lord require of you? And there is an answer for us. He has told you, O mortal, what is good;    and what does the Lord require of youbut to do justice, and to love kindness,    and to walk humbly with your God? Micah 6:8 NRSV Walking humbly is recognizing your dependence on Him, accepting…

  • Ready for God’s Plans

Some of my immediate family are going on holidays. Overseas for the first time. The four children, my grandchildren, are sooooo excited. Talking about it. Researching about the best things to do and then making a plan for each day they are away. The anticipation can be seen and heard in their demeanour. The excitement is real. It made me think. Do I ever pause and wonder what momentous things God might be preparing to do next in my life? How many moments of awe-inspiring anticipation do I miss by never being still before You Lord and allowing You to share Your plans for my life? I need to learn…

  • Be Encouraged

I read this scripture the other day: May you be made strong with all the strength that comes from his glorious power, and may you be prepared to endure everything with patience, while joyfullygiving thanks to the Father, who has enabled you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the light. He has rescued us from the power of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:11-14 I was greatly encouraged, and it reminded me so much that it is in His power that we are truly strengthened. It is from Him that we can truly endure with…

  • Putting God First

Lately I’ve been trying a few new ways of praying. I felt I had got into a rut. Doing the same old, same old. Now that’s not bad but I was getting more distracted more easily and was not enjoying prayer as much. I know there are seasons where prayer – talking to God – can feel a bit dry. Dry on my end. I’m the one struggling. Often, I recognize that I have not been praying well. Not relating, sharing, honouring God with my life, my conversation. I’ve put too many other things in my life that either take up too much of my time and by the time,…

  • Invite the Holy Spirit

As I sat down to get off my feet and legs which were talking to me, I felt very satisfied. A good event. Everything ran very smoothly. The laughter, “ahh’s”, and even the silent moments were very rewarding. My prayer is that the Holy Spirit has planted a seed, opened fresh doors and helped encourage those women who attended to use their gifts. Feedback that we received was … “I’ve never done anything like that before.” “The day went so fast, but so eye-opening.” “I was a bit sceptical, but the Spirit Questionnaire was exactly me.” “I had the best day; it was such a blessed event.” “The day was…
