Thank you Emma and Rosemary for this chat about trusting in God’s promises! I do know how it feels to be let down by actions that don’t correspond with words of trust! When I was a young girl in England, an older girl next door asked me to come and play with a group of her friends. When I did, I noticed there were so many, as it may have been her birthday. They had formed a big circle, the girl next door then explained what they wanted to do. She mentioned they all were going to use two fingers of each hand to lift me up, as I laid down on the grass and suspend me in mid air. Me being young and naive said yes! So all the girls did lift me up with only two fingers of each hand and then they took their fingers away! And of course I fell with a big thud onto the grass. As all the girls began to laugh loudly, I in such embarrassment ran out of her backyard and ran straight into my home! I never went to see her again after that! It took me a few years after to say hello to her when seeing her enter her home! Growing up came with several incidences of embarrassments and distrust! Being a much older person now, I can now realize how we human beings can let down one another and at times we do need to be cautious concerning who we trust. But with our God we can trust Him ALL the time!!! That’s not to say I get always what I want! That I will get always what I expect! In those times that I may feel disappointed at the time, I come to reflect upon how in the past it was better for me not to have what I wanted or expected then, as my life would have been a misery now!!! I have our Lord God to thank for those times now!!! May the Lord bless you both for this spiritually uplifting chat!!!
