It’s All Worthwhile!
Oh, how the muscles ache. But (and a magnificent but it is) it was well worth it. We have just hosted two afternoon teas over the last weekend. We met some lovely ladies in Melbourne and Brisbane that inspired me and our team with their enthusiasm and encouraged us to continue reaching out to people. For they were some that we had reached.
As some beautiful lady stated to me, “I found you a few years ago online and now I have breakfast either with you or your husband every day. It gives me strength and focus for the day and reminds me to put Christ at the centre of my life. “
That’s why we do this and many other in-house events or online videos, podcasts …… To give God the glory He deserves and to introduce Him to many who don’t really know Him or are meeting Him for the first time.
One gorgeous young lady who had only become a Christian a short while ago was standing with me playing a “Get to Know You” game. We were supposed to walk across the room if we loved tea instead of coffee, a cat in preference of a dog etc etc. As it so happened we seemed to like everything on the left-hand side of the room so after the first question we stayed where we were.
We laughed about how we were so similar.
I immediately was struck with the line in my mind, “Of course, because we are Christians.” That makes us more similar than we realise. It’s because we are trying to live with The Kingdom values. God’s Kingdom.
We realise that there is more to life than just the stuff we see, the things we do here on earth. That this eternal life that we are being invited into, this relationship with Jesus that is being offered, makes a difference in and to our lives.
As stated, many times in John:
I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.
John 10:10b NRSV
I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one will snatch them out of my hand.
John 10:28 NRSV
Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?’
John 11:25-26 NRSV
This great life offered to us via Jesus is the greatest life offered to all:
Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
John 14:6 NRSV
So to that young lady, with the beautiful smile, laughing with me at our answers to the game questions, you have chosen wisely. Now continue to develop that love relationship with Jesus and you will never look back.
It is the greatest life offered to us for free. Jesus already took upon Himself our punishment, so don’t hesitate – go “all in” for Him.
It’s all worthwhile!
May these jottings from my journal inspire you to believe in and fall in love with Christ- the hope of the world, as stated in Jeremiah 17:7, ‘Blessed is the man who believes and trusts in and relies on the Lord and whose hope and confident expectation is the Lord!’

Every week groups of ladies meet together to chat about the things I raise in my weekly blog post and to chat about life in general. We call these ‘Heart Connect’ groups.
