New Beginnings. A New Start for all of us in 2026. Well, that’s my mindset, what’s yours in regard to a New Year? I’ve been enthusiastic to clean up around the house (and not only because we had more visitors over during the Christmas/ Holiday Season.) I’ve been cleaning out my wardrobe. Getting rid of the high heels that I can no longer wear. The clothes that no longer fit or I have not worn in such a long time and don’t see myself wearing them in the foreseeable future. Today is not a good day for me. My asthma is playing up, and I feel I am coming down with a cold. Aching in the body, phlegm in the chest, head pounding. With the way I physically feel, there is no dinner being cooked tonight by me. I’m having a hot shower, taking some pain relief and crawling into bed. Oh, how good is our God – all of the time! Different races, different cultures, different countries all coming together for one purpose. The focus is to reach out to those in need. The needs are varied. Some mental, many physical and even more emotionally need help. Most of this help did not need financial means but time in, a time of sharing and caring. What can we really do? Not much in the big scheme of things but little things soon add up. I remember the time when there were big after Christmas sales. A lot of the items that were left over or did not sell well at Christmas were discounted so that the companies could get their cash outlay back, even if they did not make any profit. Then a few years ago there were sales even before Christmas. Black Friday sales, Cyber Monday sales became a new thing to grab a bargain. Even the month before Christmas. Now it seems like these sales start at the beginning of November and go right through to the end of the month. Great for Christmas shopping but where will it end? Ever seen…

As I was sifting through my thoughts and actions over the past few days the scripture in Psalm 139 verse 23 came to my mind. Search me, O God, and know my heart;    test me and know my thoughts. Psalm 139:23 NRSV I was in a conversation with God. Asking Him to look at my heart. To search through it. To check out it’s spiritual rhythm and readjust it if need be.
