God’s Timing is Perfect
When unexpected things happen in your life it is so comforting and good to know that God cares for you and knew what was going to happen.
I have a small procedure booked in with my doctor and I cannot drive for 24 hours. The day before Bruce got a phone call from an eye specialist, that he has been waiting to see, to tell him that Bruce could be seen that afternoon. I then received a phone call a few hours later from Bruce to say that the eye specialist was going to operate on his eyelid right then and there.
Oh, so unexpected. He would not be able to drive for 4 hours and needed special eye drops and cold eye patches.
I started to think if I went to get him how would we pick up the car? Plus, tomorrow we are busy with my hospital appointment. The children are all busy at work. So how do we get the car home?
After the eye procedure, while waiting in the reception area, the doctor said to Bruce if he waited an extra half an hour his vision should not be as blurry and he should be able to drive home. I was a bit concerned but knew Bruce would be sensible and stop if it was too hard.
After he got home, I drove down to the pharmacy with the scripts and a list of eye patches and cold compresses to buy. The frustrating thing was that I had to travel to two pharmacies to get the required meds.
I had been up since 4am this morning, not being able to sleep and was feeling quite tired. As I walked back to the car with all the meds etc. I thanked the Lord for being with us as we had not expected this today. I thanked Him for getting the minor surgery done for Bruce oh so quickly and it would have time to heal before he went on all his travels this year.
I thanked Him for the quick and healing surgery. For everything working out so well.
I was reminded how good God is to us, how He works it all out, and we can trust in His timing. God’s timing is perfect, purposeful, and often different from human expectations, requiring patient trust rather than anxiety.
Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time.
Ecclesiastes 3:11 NLT
At the right time, I, the Lord, will make it happen.
Isaiah 60:22 NLT
Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!
Psalm 27:14 NLT
I know it may seem like simple ordinary things that happen to us and it’s no big deal but often we learn to trust in God firstly with the little ordinary things.
May these jottings from my journal inspire you to believe in and fall in love with Christ- the hope of the world, as stated in Jeremiah 17:7, ‘Blessed is the man who believes and trusts in and relies on the Lord and whose hope and confident expectation is the Lord!’

Every week groups of ladies meet together to chat about the things I raise in my weekly blog post and to chat about life in general. We call these ‘Heart Connect’ groups.
DISCUSSION QUESTIONS
When’s the last time that something happened that you weren’t expecting?
Did it throw your day off or were you able to cope?
How can you trust God with the ordinary, daily things?

Thank you Rosemary for sharing with us how our Good Lord God Loves us and of His perfect timing. Your Holy Scripture verses reminded me of that important Psalm 27 verses 13- 14… I believe that I shall see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!… It is important TO PUT OUR TRUST IN THE LORD, Rosemary!!!

Thanks for sharing a wonderful story. I had not seen a family member for a number of years due to a disagreement. I began to think about reconciling with her but I was hesitant thinking a meeting would lead to further arguments. I prayed about it and a few days later I saw her at a coffee shop after not seeing her anywhere in a long time. She came up to me and hugged me. I had thought about being able to go to her funeral in the distant future. After one visit to her house she found out she had terminal cancer and she passed away soon after. God had given me the opportunity to reconcile with her just in time.

Thank for your beautiful message!. I find myself worrying so much about things that are not in my control. I have to remember that God is in control and his time is perfect!
